This is an animation story about a girl who just happened to be born with girly features because of her mixed blood. Born into the wrong family, Julie dreams for love and happiness that she never had during her childhood. When Julie’s dad dies, she decides to go to the city in search of her long-lost mom, despite her mom’s rejection years ago. Struggling to find work and always being harassed by men, Julie meets Nathan on one of those days. Nathan is sweet but shy , so he doesn’t express his feelings at first. The film was released in Taiwan on 3 December 2004 under the title. In the Czech Republic, the film was originally released as a VHS called "Julie" (). It was later reissued on DVD as "Julie: Inkoustová rodina". The film has been dubbed into several languages, including English, Dutch, French and German. The film was first released as a VHS called "Julie" (). The title has been changed to "Inkoustová rodina" (Inkoust Family), which is considered as a reissue of the same title. The DVD edition of the film was released on 27 March 2005. The film was released on 16 February 2011, with English subtitles. There are several soundtrack albums of the film.
